::My husband and I were on our first cruise when he became terribly ill. We were taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he was admitted. The compassion and care they showed not only my husband but me made a terrifying experience barable. The nurses in the Medical Unit were awesome and made sure I was cared for and had somewhere to sleep and that I ate. The security team would even stop me in the halls to ask how my husband was doing. The security team was so sweet that on our last night there, while we waited to be air lifted home to the US, they each signed a Cayman Islands dollar bill and presented it to me as a souvenir! It was so touching. Even the visiting island residents were the friendliest people you could meet. Everyone greeted you as they walked by. Being in a foriegn country with NO ONE was terrifying but if it had to happen I thank God it was here.

::Poor customer service when it comes to answering phones and returning messages from the Women's Health. Complained to a Manager whom stated she would return my call and never did. Called back the next day and still no answering of the phones from this particular department. It appears that you actually have to go down there to get some assistance since you can never get anyone by phone. Other than this, no complaints otherwise.

::Many years ago I was scuba diving at night ran into a bunch (3) Sea Wasps (box jellyfishes) I was rushed to this hospital and about to die. Hours later in the ER and days in the ICU I was released still alive. They did a great job! I went to check out and they said I owed $28 .... and if I had been a Caymanian citizen, it would have only been $23. I said "They brought me here in my swimming trunks and I don't have any money on me." They said... "Ok, bring it when you can, or on your way to the airport when you leave Cayman." The Cayman people are the nicest people on earth. Not just because of this experience. just in general.

::Better than my home country's government health care facility...
