::Run from this bank as fast as you can. Thier customer experience is maybe the worst ever. I tried to open an account as Iniwnnproperty here and need to pay bills. The 1st attempt failed not having documentation. Fine. I asked for a definitive list. Came back. They would not accept a printed utility bill. And proceeded to give me a list of New admin documents NOT On the original list. Ok. A 3 rd time I return. In a week. And NOW I have to bring MORE. A letter saying my address is what’s on utility bill? What? Idiocy. Also I own my own biz. They want a Letter from accoubtant stating my W9 is correct and my tax is is correct. Why didn’t they have this list to begin and in writing. Thy are a nightmare. After the 3 rd attempt, I left. Never have I been so frustrated at lack of organization nor business process. And THAT was to GIVE them money. 💰 my advice. Avoid. Go to some other bank

::Avoid this bank like the plague. Long queues, awful service, a paper system from the 1800s, its expensive compared to the competition and they are generally unhelpful and go out of their way to be awkward.

::If I could give a zero I would...my bank account was compromised from the beginning opening it up...I always was locked out of my account...continually emailing and calling to have my login reset. I deposited a lot of money Aug 29, 2017 and by Sept 27 all my money was wired out of my account to an account in New York. That account was drained and closed. Butterfield is not giving me my money back and is saying that I did it. Why would I do this when I am moving to the island for a job and put the money there to purchase a car and to live until I get paid. I have heard many people on the island saying these things happen at Butterfield. I wish I had known before so I could have gone to another bank.

::Butterfield is a great bank. Phone support is always available and they have knowledgeable personnel. I am very satisfied I switched from another bank. Totally recommend this bank.

::Customer service is horrible, most of the time I have felling that people don't know how to do their job.... they charge some ridiculous stuff on monthly basis ( for example they charged me with 8 CI for paper statement which I never use or received them, then additional 7.5ci for some maintenance fee (why should we pay for something they must maintain) , basically ripping people of. I would change this bank but unfortunately my employer is working only with this bank . I would suggest to go to Cayman National.
